Overview

Corpus Christi College is situated in the heart of the city and combines ancient buildings with modern facilities, making it the ideal alternative to a hotel or bed and breakfast.

The accommodation available is used by students during term time and is pleasant, simple and clean in either single standard or basic ensuite bedrooms. The College does not operate in the same way as a hotel, but promises to provide you with stunning architecture steeped in history, atmosphere and very friendly service.

Bathrooms are shared unless you are in ensuite rooms. Each bedroom has a wash hand basin and you will be provided with towels and toiletries. Your bedroom will be routinely cleaned by the Housekeeping staff, beds are not cleaned at weekends. Tea & coffee making facilities are provided.

Bedrooms can be chosen within the grounds of the College, you must select New Court and Taylor Court; there are also bedrooms situated just out of the main gate which is Botolph Court and Benet Street. Ensuite accommodation is a 1-minute walk from the main gate. Accommodation outside the College is cheaper in price due to its location and the fact that it is noisier. The college has tried to offer as much information to you regarding the standard of accommodation and facilities they offer if you have any questions send an enquiry.

Corpus Christi very much looks forward to welcoming you!

History

Old Court, a rare medieval architectural gem and the oldest surviving enclosed court in Cambridge dates from the foundation of the College in 1352. The 19th century Neo-Gothic New Court provides the four traditional essentials of a college - a Chapel, a Library, a Hall and a Lodge for the Master. Famous Students who have attended Corpus Christi include the playwrights Christopher Marlowe and John Fletcher.

Fascinating fact: Long-nosed inquisitive Corpus Master Matthew Parker of 1544 was the original "Nosey Parker!!"

Unexpectedly cheerful welcome from Corpus Christi porters; wonderful central location; they advised very helpfully on car parking; room very clean, suitably eccentric, in very good order though shower was a bit tired. Excellent cooked breakfast with really decent coffee - what more could you want! Thank you.

Great to be back to the College. It would have felt more welcoming if breakfast had ben included in the deal. The meal on Saturday was superb as was the friendly and efficient service by the staff looking after us in the Parker Room. They were terrific!

MichaelS

We had a wonderful stay and everything was excellent. A particular thank you to the porters in the porters lodge who were so friendly and helpful.

FionaF

The room was clean and spacious, staff were friendly and the food was good. The price was, however, too high for what was on offer in my opinion.

ADRIANG

If I ever return to Cambridge I will sure use your site to book my lodgings. Everything functioned just fine and I had a very nice experience.

Amazing. Corpus is fabulous - felt like we were back at college not in some impersonal corporate place.

ClaireB

BarryS
