Overview

Anne McLaren House (38 Norham Road), is situated in the heart of the Kellogg College site. The property is close to most University departments and libraries, as well as the city centre, making the College a convenient place to stay for short visits to Oxford.

The short-term accommodation at Anne McLaren House offers 11 spacious ensuite bedrooms. All the rooms have been finished to a high standard. There are a range of rooms available, including single, double and superior double rooms, which are ideal for guests who wish to book single or double occupancy.

History

Kellogg College was founded on 1st March 1990 and is the University of Oxford's largest graduate college. Kellogg was founded to facilitate part-time study for graduate students at the University of Oxford. The College community is now comprised of over 900 part-time and full-time students, making the College a vibrant and dynamic place to study and live.

The mission of the College is to welcome and support graduate students and promote the University’s work in lifelong learning. In 2020, Kellogg College celebrated its 30 year anniversary and the College has evolved within the University of Oxford that is breaking new ground.

The College Hub includes a Café offering a variety of food options, including breakfast, which you may wish to purchase during your stay. Please find more information here.

Please note that breakfast has not been included in the room booking, and payment is via card only.

There is a kitchenette at Anne McLaren House equipped with a microwave, fridge and toaster for guests who wish to prepare light snacks/meals only during their stay.

Grounds & Gardens

It is only a short walk to the University Parks, which have charming gardens containing many rare and unusual species of flora, and North Parade Avenue where there are various cafes and restaurants.

Wi-Fi provision is available via the Cloud.

Linen, bedding and towels are provided in every bedroom, including Tea and coffee making facilities. All the rooms are equipped with central heating.

Flat-screen television in every bedroom, communal lounge, kitchenette and dining area is available to all guests.

It was a lovely, comfortable room and it was great having access to the communal kitchen. Check-in and out was easy and well-organised. Easy walking distance to the town centre, historic sites and Jericho area.

Lovely room and en-suite. Nice quiet gardens at rear to sit in was a bonus. Could have benefited from extra pillows for the bed but everything else was spot on.

Please check-in at the main Kellogg College reception located between 60-62 Banbury Road.

In the event that you have booked accommodation on behalf of a guest, please can you kindly provide the email address of the guest who will be residing at Kellogg College to ensure they receive the necessary check-in details.

Monday - Friday after 5.00pm and all day Saturday and Sunday:

If you arrive Monday - Friday after 5.00pm or on a Saturday and Sunday, the key card will be available from an out of hours key box outside Anne McLaren House. Please be assured that the Accommodation Team will contact you in advance to notify you of the out of hours key collection procedure should you advise the College you expect to arrive out of hours.

Directions:

Kellogg College is located at 60-62 Banbury Road, which is a 15 minute walk from the City centre. If you are walking to Kellogg College from the City centre, please walk along St Giles and continue onto Banbury Road and Kellogg College is on the right hand side of Banbury Road.

By Car:

The M40 and M4 + A34 provide easy access by car from London, leaving the M40 at Junction 8.The M40 links Birmingham to Oxford from the north, leaving at Junction 9.

There is strictly no parking available for guests at Anne McLaren House (38 Norham Road), however there is a Park and Ride service which was pioneered in Oxford. All five Park and Ride sites are clearly signposted from the Oxford Ring Road and they offer a regular and reliable service. You may wish to visit the Oxford City Council website for more information regarding your parking options in Oxford.

Parking is only available upon request for Blue Badge parking permit holders at Anne McLaren House (38 Norham Road).

By Train:

Oxford rail station is a 20/25 minute walk from Kellogg College. A frequent direct train service operates from London Paddington to Oxford (approx. every 30 minutes) and from Birmingham New Street via Banbury and Coventry.

Passengers can travel to various locations throughout the UK from Oxford rail station.

By Bus:

City2 buses (2, 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D) run every few minutes from Banbury Road stops into the City centre, which take approximately 5/10 minutes. There are regular bus services from London to Oxford and London airports to Oxford. Please visit the Oxford Bus Company for more information on routes and prices.
