Overview

Tickets cost £199 to book a private group tour of 1-4 persons.

Alternative start times may be requested, when booking.

Adults aged over 18 with valid photo ID only.

GENERAL INFO:

Hear about Oxford's urban and literary legends and enjoy historic pubs like the Eagle and Child, where CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien used to meet over a pint of ale with their writers club friends, known as 'The Inklings'. On average, the tour lasts three hours and visits three of Oxford's most historical and famous pubs.

Oxford Pub Tour is available for private group tours any days at 5.30pm (except Dec 25, Dec 26, Jan 1st)

See many of the famous sights and colleges (although all colleges are generally closed in the evening) as the guide tells you stories about Oxford's rogues, crime and punishment plus an insight into Oxford town and gown history. Please note colleges are usually closed at 5pm, so this tour seldom goes inside colleges.

History

The oldest pubs in Oxford go back to the 1200's - where there are students, beer follows...or was it because Oxford has some of the oldest pubs, that the students decided to make Oxford their home?!

Food & beverage

No drinks included!

Other facilities

A complimentary I Love Oxford map is offered.

Peter was an excellent guide for my husband, friend and myself as we explored Oxford our first night in town. We had a couple of pints throughout the tour and got a mix of history including the university, literary figures, and even a touch of Harry Potter. Peter was very knowledgeable and gave a great overview of the city, including many tips and tricks for the remainder of our stay. Would happily join one of this company's tours again!
